High-Level Intergovernmental Meeting on the Midpoint Review of the Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons, 2003-2012,

The meeting adopted the "Biwako Plus Five: Supplemental Strategies for the Further Implementation of the Biwako Millennium Framework for Action"

There were minor modifications at the meeting which will be included in the final text.

Mr Nagase Osamu, Councillor of Inclusion International,represented II at this meeting.
He was pleased to report that II has succeeded in including in the document the following points, through its efforts at different stages of the
preparation.

* Support to the development of organizations of family and parents organizations.
* Inclusive education
* Reasonable accommodation
* Accessible languages and plain-language
